CONDITIONS TO GET A GIVEN OBJECT VISA: TEMPORARY RESIDENCE FOR AN ACTIVITY OR A GIVEN OBJECT

 

This visa authorizes a temporary residence on the national territory on the basis of the activity or the object a person has the intention to realize. The procedures are normally done for the following situations:

 

  • Business trip or contract of employment

  • Contract of employment (Given Multiple Entries Visa)

  • Non-remunerated social service or professional traineeship

  • Marriage

  • Application for a temporary residence visa or a permanent residence visa

  • Shooting for commercial purposes

 

Conditions to get the visa:

 

  1. Visa application form (completed and signed). This form will be automatically generated by the system. You must make your application through the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/

  2. Valid passport at least 6 months after the return date

  3. Certificate of yellow fever vaccine

  4. Two recent photos, of 3 x 3 cm, on white background, without hat or other accessories (the photo should be attached to the application form and uploaded to the website)

  5. The Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium will send you the bank details for the payment after the legalisations. Cash payments are not allowed. Any document will be delivered if the payment is not made.

  6. Some documents that certify that the activity will be developed on the Bolivian territory

    a) In case of a paid work and a dependent relationship with a Bolivian company or established in Bolivia: invitation letter of the entity or the company and an authorising document of the registration of the invitation to the Department of Immigration.

    b) Copy of the constitution act, TIN, register of companies (FUNDAEMPRESA).

    c) For non-Bolivian companies, in case of an unpaid work without a contract of employment: sworn declaration that states the activity you will be developing, the place where you will have it and an indication of the duration of this activity in Bolivia.

  1. Updated criminal record, legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium. In the case of the Given Multiple Entries Visa, the updated criminal record must be issued by INTERPOL and legalized by the authorities mentioned in this paragraph.

  2. Certified translation into Spanish of the criminal record, legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium

  3. Some documents that certify the solvability:

    a)Statements of account of the last 6 months that mention the name of the applicant

    b) A contract of employment or a civil contract

    c) Incomes from a rent and/or a sale

    d) Others

  1. Airline ticket or travel route

 

CLARIFICATION NOTE.- The requirements established in points 8, 9 and 10 are additional and obligatory by region and must be presented together with all the original documentation. People who are going to travelling in Bolivia for their job for a period inferior to 90 days don’t need to present their criminal record, nor the translation into Spanish.

 

Procedure is:

 

  • Complete the Visa form online and upload all documentation from the website https://portalmre.rree.gob.bo/formvisas/ (See the “instructions in English” on the website link for Assistance).

  • Copy of copies of all documentation, including the signed copy of the Visa form and send all the documents of electronic mail: consulado@embajadadebolivia.eu

  • Once your application is verified online, we will contact you via email and we will give you an appointment. On the day of the appointment, the applicant must go in person, with all the original documentation ordered in a file

  • If the application file for the visa is incomplete, it will be denied.

 

Conditions to get a visa for medical reasons:

 

It will be granted for thirty (30) calendar days to foreign people who need a specific medical treatment on the Bolivian territory. They have to present the above-mentioned documents as well as:

 

  1. Documents that certify the specific medical treatment with the help of these documents:

 a) Medical certificate from the country of origin or the country of residence that mentions the specific medical treatment the applicant needs, duly legalised.

b) Invitation letter of the medical entity based legally in Bolivia (hospital, clinic, health care centre or other similar) and an authorising document of the registration of the invitation to the Department of Immigration.

 

Conditions to get a family visa:

 

It will be granted for thirty (30) calendar days to foreign people who have family, civilian and adoption relationships, an economic dependency, affinities and persons who are going to be married. They have to present the aforementioned documents (points 1 to 7) as well as:

 

  1. Documents that certify the need to enter the Bolivian territory for family reasons:

 a) In case of a family relationship with Bolivian persons who are living in Bolivia: original birth certificate of the applicant and a certificate or a legalised copy of the Bolivian identity card of the family member (father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter).

 b) In case of a family relationship with foreign persons who are living in Bolivia: original birth certificate of the applicant and a certificate or a legalised copy of the identity card of the foreign family member (father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter).

 c) In case of a civilian relationship with a Bolivian person who is living in Bolivia: original marriage certificate and a certificate or a legalised copy of the Bolivian identity card of the spouse.

d) In case of a civilian relationship with a foreign person who is living in Bolivia: original marriage certificate and a certificate or a legalised copy of the foreign identity card of the spouse.

e) In case of an adoption: certificate or an equivalent document from the relevant judicial authority in Bolivia, duly legalised, in which it is confirmed the applicant for the visa is actually the applicant for an adoption.

 f) In case of a marriage between a foreign person with a Bolivian person or a foreign person in Bolivia: certificate from the registrar who will establish the date of the marriage and certificate or legalised copy of the Bolivian identity card or the foreign identity card of the future spouse who is living in Bolivia.

 g) In case of an economic dependency, affinity or guardianship: original invitation letter of the Bolivian person or the foreign person who is living in Bolivia and document that authorises the registration of the invitation to the Department of Immigration, with the following documents that certify the corresponding relationship:

 

  • In case of an economic dependency, the document will consist of the sworn declaration that specifies the person who is applying for the visa economically depends on the person who is realising the invitation. The latter will have to prove his economic capacity by means of copies of a contract of employment or a civilian contract, statements of account of the last six months or others incomes.

  • In case of affinity, the document will consist of a relationship certificate, duly legalised (ex. stepfather, stepmother, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law).

  • In case of a guardianship, the document will consist of a certificate from the relevant authority, duly legalised.

 

NOTE.- In relation to the birth, civil-status and life certificates, foreign people who ask for a visa to get married and/or those who live in Bolivia and are married with a Bolivian citizen have to present their original documents as well as their certified translations into Spanish in Bolivia, duly legalised by the Legalisation Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium or Luxembourg, and then, by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Bolivia in Belgium.

 

Any application has to be presented between 30 and 10 calendar days before the departure. The Consular Section doesn’t accept requests of more than 40 days.

 

Cost:

 

Cost for a Given Object Visa = €85

Cost for a Given Multiple Entries Visa = 200 €

Cost per legalisation = €50
